Backing Up Your M365 Data

Updated over a week ago

Once your M365 protected item is created, you are now ready to backup the data.

As with files, in order to backup your M365 data in Arma, you must create a backup profile. Please follow the steps below.

Navigate to your M365 protected item, select 'Profiles' and then click on the 'New Profile' button. You will see any existing M365 backup profiles listed below.

Sync Control

The Sync resource gives you the option to use more or fewer device resources when the backup sync runs. Choose from High > Medium > Low.

Profiles

Here you can create your customized profile

Name

This is the name of the profile so it can be recognized in the profile list. You can have multiple profiles for one device.

Enabled

Tick this to Enable your Profile.
(If you need to disable the profile from running you can untick this as you need)

Data

Click on the 'Browse' button as indicated in the screenshot below to select the M365 data to be backed up. You can do this multiple times until the required items are present in the 'Includes' list. You can remove items from this list by clicking on the 'rubbish bin' icon which appears to the right of each item.

A new window will open listing your entire M365 tenancy. By default, all users and items are selected for backup.

Use the blue controls to expand the tree as required. Check and uncheck the boxes to control the backup selections. When your selection is complete, click on the 'Save' button.

Schedule

From the schedule tab, you can choose the type and frequency of your backups.

Settings

Here you can choose if the backup will run for a specific period of time.

We recommend turning this off for the initial data seed as may take longer.

Within the box you can enter the number of hours manually.

Archive

Enabling the Archive option will allow data to be archived at a specific time.

With Retention Period you have a choice of how long your data is stored before it is archived.

Running your Backup

To run the backup sync, choose the profile from the list and click on the Run icon. This will change to a stop icon once running. Click stop to stop your backup from running.

Backup Sync Status

You can check the status of your backup from the Sync tab on the device. See the image below for reference.
