Profile Management
Updated over a week ago

To backup your data in Arma you must create a backup profile.

This is a simple process, Please follow the steps below.

From your device select profiles as per the image below.

There are several options and selections to consider on this page

Sync Control

You can run multiple syncs at once, but you have the option to run them individually if performance is a factor.
The Sync resource gives you the option to use more or fewer device resources when the backup sync runs.

Profiles

There are three quick selection options as below. Choose if you don't need to make a customised profile.

If you select one of these it will show in the profile window as below. Please note you will need to select it and enable it to run and customise the schedule. See the sections of the guide below.

Customised Profile

From your device select Profiles and then click on New Profile. As per the image below.

The following will appear and here you can create your customised profile

Name

This is the name of the profile so can be recognised in the profile list. You can have multiple profiles for one device.

โ€‹

Enabled

Tick this to Enable your Profile.
(If you need to disable the profile from running you can untick this as you need)

Data

Selecting the plus and then the folder allows you to choose the files or folders you wish to backup. You can have a number of different selections as required. See the Below image for reference.

Exclusions

Here you can exclude files and folders from the backup and backup selections.

Wildcards can be used here and see the image below for example.

Wildcards

In Software, a wildcard character is a kind of placeholder represented by a single character, such as an asterisk (*) which can be interpreted as a number of literal characters or an empty string. It is often used in file searches so the full name need not be typed.

Arma Wildcards are :

* = any character

*\= Any Folder (windows Only)

*/ = Any Folder (Mac & Linux only)

Please see Wildcards in "All Articles" for more info.

Schedule

From the schedule tab, you can choose the type and frequency of your backups.

Settings

Here you can choose if the backup will run for a specific period of time.

We recommend turning this off for the initial data seed as may take longer.

Within the box you can enter the number of hours manually.

Archive

Enabling the Archive option will allow data to be archived at a specific time.

With Retention Period you have a choice of how long your data is stored before it is archived.

Running your Backup

To run the backup sync, choose the profile from the list and click on the Run icon. This will change to a stop icon once running. Click stop to stop your backup from running.

Backup Sync Status

You can check the status of your backup from the Sync tab on the device. See the image below for reference.
