Discover how to modify Report Labels (RDL Files) in Naverisk.

Introduction

In order to do this, you need to locate the RDL File(s) you would like to modify on your Site Controller and then modify them with Notepad++ or FYI Reporting (which is a free download).

1.0 Where to find the RDL Report Files

The RDL Report Files are located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Naverisk\ReportingService\Reports

The files are named after their respective Reports, for example:

  • AntivirusDetailPDF.rdl

  • AntivirusDetailExcel.rdl

  • AntivirusDetailHTML.rdl

  • AntivirusDetailRTF.rdl

  • AntivirusSummaryExcel.rdl

  • AntivirusSummaryHTML.rdl

  • AntivirusSummaryPDF.rdl

  • AntivirusSummaryRTF.rdl

  • BackupDetailPDF.rdl

  • BackupDetailExcel.rdl

  • BackupDetailHTML.rdl

  • BackupDetailRTF.rdl

  • BackupSummaryExcel.rdl

  • BackupSummaryHTML.rdl

  • BackupSummaryPDF.rdl

  • BackupSummaryRTF.rdl

  • ExecutiveSummaryExcel.rdl

  • ExecutiveSummaryHTML.rdl

  • ExecutiveSummaryPDF.rdl

2.0 Modifying the Report Files with Notepad++

  1. Backup the RDL File

  2. Open the RDL file on NotePad++

  3. Press CTRL+F or click on Search on the Menu, then click ‘Find’

  4. Enter specific text to change on the ‘Find what’ field

  5. Enter the new set of text on the ‘Replace with’ field

  6. Make sure that the text being changed is enclosed with “ “ otherwise, it may cause an error in the RDL file

  7. Click on ‘Replace All’

  8. Save the File

  9. Run the report from Naverisk.

3.0 Modifying the Report Files with FYI Reporting

  1. Backup the RDL Files

  2. Open the RDL Files with FYI Reporting

  3. Locate the ‘Textbox’ showing the text you want to change, double click

  4. On the Properties, change the Value to the desired text

  5. Make sure that the text being changed is enclosed with “ “ otherwise, it may cause an error in the RDL file

  6. Click ‘Apply’

  7. Save the file

  8. Run the report from Naverisk.
